It is a garden wedding with floral arches, folding chairs for those attending, bridesmaids, groomsmen, and a ring bearer. The little girl carries a basket of petals and remembers to walk slowly. When the couple says their vows, fold out pages on both sides show the whole bridal party. The couple is white, but a racial mixture is shown. After the ceremony, the little girl dances with one wedding guest after another. At the end, the little girl is asleep on her father's shoulder. Unmetered rhymes tell the story. The drawings, filled in with watercolor, show a bright eyed, curly red-headed girl, about four years old.
