Couples Shower Invitations

It’s time to send your wedding invitations and you’re wondering what kind of information should be included. Here is a quick guide that will help you cover all of the most important details

Choose your hosts. You may issue the invitation from the bride’s parents, both sets of parents or simply from yourselves as a couple. Request the “honor” of your guests’ presence at a church ceremony or the “pleasure” at any other wedding ceremony site.

When you list your names, include first, middle and last. Do not use abbreviations. Indicate on the wedding invitation the date, time and location of the wedding ceremony. Spell everything out fully, including the month, year and even “o’clock” if the time calls for it.

The formality of your wedding is traditionally determined by the time of day that it begins, and is expressed in the style of wedding invitation you choose. Classic etiquette dictates omitting mentions of dress, gifts and the words “adult reception.” Invitees should refer to either the inner envelope, if one exists, or the outer envelope if it does not, which should include the names of only those people who are actually invited to the wedding. Envelopes should be hand addressed and also should not include abbreviations. Calligraphy is an elegant touch, however neat handwriting is also acceptable.

Along with the main wedding invitation, you may wish to include a reception card, a response card with a stamped returned envelope, accommodations information and a wedding map. Also consider including a card with your personalized wedding website address so guests have up-to-the-minute access to your exciting details.

Advantage Bridal has a huge selection of wedding invitations. You can choose do-it-yourself and printable styles, or the perfect custom-printed suite. Specialties include eco-friendly and destination wedding invitations, and range from fun and casual to ultra formal; something to suit every wedding!
